Assessment

Neuropsychological Assessment

Neuropsychological Assessment can help identify the severity of any cognitive problems associated with any of the disease processes listed above. Neuropsychological assessment can also be used to 1) assist with diagnostic clarification; 2) identify residual or relative strengths that can be used to compensate for identified weaknesses; 3) identify intervention strategies or accommodations to minimize the effects of cognitive problems and maximize daily functioning; 4) monitor treatment (or disease) progress; 5) predict functional potential (such as ability to return to work or school, or manage finances independently) or functional recovery.

Psychological Assessment

Psychological Assessment can be useful for diagnostic clarification of emotional difficulties to better inform treatment options. This process can also be used to monitor treatment outcome or help a treatment provider gain insight into root causes of a person’s emotional or behavioral problems

Therapy

Psychological Treatment

Psychological Treatment is offered to help manage or alleviate emotional distress such as depression and anxiety, enhance daily functioning, and manage life changes such as the loss of a spouse or loved one, loss of a job, changes in family dynamics, or for self-improvement. Treatment is offered in multiple formats, including individual, group, family, and couples therapy. Treatment is generally focused on current problems or situations, or typical styles of interacting with the world that are not producing the desired results.

Caregiver Support

Caregiver Support is offered to people who provide care for loved ones suffering from a chronic or terminal illness such as dementia, cancer, a brain injury, or other mental health problem. It is often extremely difficult to manage the changes in lifestyle, relationship dynamics, financial situation, occupational stress, social network and support, family dynamics and support, and roles and responsibilities when providing care for someone who can no longer care for themselves. Support is provided through individual and group sessions.

Cognitive Rehabilitation
